Reflection 3
B: What do you think the economy in China?
I think it is doing very well. For example the Chinese government is holding the Olympic game at this year, and that is a good sign for a country like China.
B: So Olympic game make you think China is in good economy, and what else you can associate with?
All I know is in China the government is taking control of everything. I mean the country is still a communism country and they have different policy to do different things. I think it is good for them to keep doing that, so the country will stay in shape and become strong.
B: I heard that America borrow a big loan of money from China because of the Iraq war. That seem like they are in a good relationship.
I know China has a lot of investment in American and American also has a lot of investment in China. They are long-term business partners. But I heard if one goes down and the other will fall apart too.
B: Yeah I guess one of the big reason that American doing business with China is because China has a lot of resource that America doesn’t have it. Like China has a lot of oil.
I heard that they found a lot of oil recently, and that make a big difference in our economy.
I also see a lot of stuff in American that is made in China; it shows that China has big amount of labor power, not like American everything is made and done by machine.
B: I see a lot of new blinding and new house constantly rising in China during this decade. Everybody put his or her money into this kind of investment in order to make good money. For example my dad brought four houses at different areas in China, that sounds crazy to American but those houses are really cheap in China. My dad uses the house as investment because he predicts those houses will eventually become very valuable one day, if after the house become valuable then he will sell them out. So far right now buying house is one kind of big deal in China
I also heard that it seems like when the economy goes up and government becomes more complicated in term of corruption. Because I still see a big part of China that need help.
B: Yeah, I realize the communism is the problem right now, and it has been always there. However when Mao is still alive, the communism is very useful in terms of bringing everyone together, but in today’s modern world China become more strong and also become a internationally well known country, maybe it is time for them to do some changes in the government. However the government is still taking control of everything in China so far.
Z: Maybe the government still thinks they are not ready to let everything out completely. I think in order to keep a good economy in China so far is to maintain what they had, and don’t make too much change, because fast changing will ruin everything.
B: Maybe you are right China’s government still need to take more steps in order to become better.
Z: Yeah, but right now I am happy for the new president in China. I think he is doing a better job to improve the economy in a fast way.
B: You know the last president in China, I actually heard a lot of rumors about this last one “Jiang ze ming”. There are so many negative stories about him. Once I found out his behavior toward journalist and media reporter. It made me laugh. It was quite interesting to see our last president of China gets angry and mad when he was facing the journalist and media reporter answering the question; nevertheless, he shouldn’t behavior like that as a president of China; he was totally embarrassed Chinese people and our Chinese pride. However the new president is not like that at all. He is very gentle and comfortable in a way. He knows how to communicate with people. I found out he has a better education than the last one. I almost forget to introduce his name “Hu Jing Tao”. He graduated from the best university in China a long ago, and he also spooks a perfect English. I think he is a good role model for all the Chinese people. I kind of trust him. I think he as a president in China he will guide China to a better future one day.
Z: Do you know where is the president live, do they have something like white house in China?
B: Yeah they do. It located in Beijing around the Tiananmen Square.
Z: I hear China hold the Olympic game in Beijing, and they are so many tourists coming from the world everywhere. I bet after the Olympic game, China’s economy will become even more great and better than before. The Olympic game is like the sign of beginning in China’s economy.
B: You are right. A lot of people say the same thing, but who can promise everything will be fine later on. Nothing is that easy. I think China already has a good starting point, but still need a half way through. I believe it will still take a lot of time and effort to achieve and become better. I think if one day China’s economy is in a excellent shape, they will help all the poor Chinese people to live in a better life, because the second biggest problem you can see in China is the difference between rich people and poor people. It actually makes me really sad that I heard the amount of rich people in China are equal to the rich people in American, but the amount of poor people in Chinese is not even close to the poor people in American. We have a lot of poor people in china that need help. I feel life is not fair for them. I hope one day the government will be able to solve this problem as soon as possible.
